Is Happiness a key to a longer life?

A new article has come out that indicates that happiness, among other things, can add years to our lives. I have included the link below.

I think it is very possible that happiness can increase your life span. I know that I am better off being happy than unhappy. There are so many benefits to being happy that a longer live may be just one more of them for us.

If this is true than we will need to set up exercise gyms for happiness workouts. Maybe we can all meet at these places and get each other smiling and laughing to get ready for the day ahead. If you think I am being funny about this, maybe you should laugh more and take that laugher more seriously. If being happy extends your life than it is a laughing matter.

So the next time you think about death, smile and you just might send death running off for years to come. The old saying: "live long and prosper," should be changed to: "be happy and live long!" Look at this as seriously as you may want, but remember to be happy while doing it.

Here are some of the comments from this article:

But, if all else fails, then try looking on the bright side of life. Optimists live seven and a half years longer than those who are gloomy or depressed, a study at Yale University in the U.S. found. It also found that simply being happy added nine years of life.

I will be here for a long and happy time, how about you?
